#Switchtolumia-Lumia 820,920 all set to launch today

HELSINKI/NEW YORK: Nokia and Microsoft will take the wraps off the struggling European company’s most powerful smartphone on Wednesday, in what may be their last major shot at winning back a market lost to Apple, Samsung and Google.

The world’s largest software maker and the Finnish company that once dominated the cellphone market will showcase the device in New York on Wednesday morning and demo it for industry insiders about the same time in Helsinki.

Microsoft and Nokia hope the new Lumia will become a potent weapon in an escalating global mobile industry war.

Lumia 820 and 920 will run on window’s latest os windows  8.The New lumia’s have features like :-

Location and City Lens: Nokia Maps will offer true offline maps that work without caching. Nokia Drive will also include daily commute feature, calculating time it takes to your place of work. It will tell you when to leave. Nokia Transport will give you public transportation info, and maps will even extend indoors.

Nokia City Lens lets you explore the world around you by pointing your camera at any city block. You can see names of restaurants, cafes, shops and more overlaid on buildings. You’ll be able to see it all in the Lumia 920′s display. This app then links to info and you can book reservations from there.

Pure Motion HD+ Screen: This 4.5 inch curved glass display on the Lumia 920 is designed to outclass the competition. It has blur-free scrolling and a fast refresh rate, keeping content sharp and flicker free.

Built-in wireless charging: The Lumia 920 features a 2200 mAh battery paired with a Qualcomm Snapdragn S4 processor to help save on power. Nokia says this phone is up to 30 percent more efficient than quad core phones.

Nokia will also sell the Fatboy pillow based on the Qi wireless charging standard. Nokia is also bringing wireless charing to Virgin Atlantic within the airport as well as Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf shops.

Windows Phone 8: Microsoft showed off some of the new features of Windows Phone 8 running on the Lumia 920. You can pin people to the Start screen and

Now seeing the features i feel this phone can really revive nokia and bring bang it’s loosing gloory.

As a first glance statement, both these phones will cater to Nokia breaking into the US market. Nokia City Lens MAY not really work in India or other Asian countries.

Wireless charging is something many people would love to have, but what’s the price on the charging unit and will it be available at public outlets outside the US and Europe?

I had my hands a couple of hours ago, a Samsung Omnia W and a Nokia Lumia 710. The Samsung Omnia beat the Lumia hands down when it came to the screen and speed. The screens on both the new Lumias had better be able to outshine the Samsung Ativ screens… HTC and Dell where are ur Windows phone 8 products?

IMHO i would rather wait to get my hands on both the new Lumias and the Samsung Ativ, side by side, before jumping for the Nokia’s offering.

  2. Thank you for every other informative site. The place else may I am getting that kind of info written in such a perfect method? I’ve a project that I am just now operating on, and I have been at the glance out for such information.

I’ve been surfing online more than three hours lately, but I by no means discovered any fascinating article like yours. It’s lovely price enough for me. In my view, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you probably did, the web shall be a lot more useful than ever before.

  4. Woah this blog is magnificent i really like studying your posts. Keep up the great paintings! You already know, lots of people are hunting around for this info, you could help them greatly.

The lumia is all set to take on its rivals, I would definitely go on with lumia, with all the new features the Nokia is offering its very hard to resist the lumia. The one thing windows is lagging in app collection.. If it gets the developers, surely it can regain the lost too spot, it’s not that easy though.. The android and iOS is growing like monsters! Lumia is very much dependent on the hardware specs, the software should be made more reliable and robust . The other area is security issues, if lumia phones offer the better security than the existing phones it has a chance to beat the enemies!!
I finally say Nokia has done really great job bringing its flagship phone ahead of new iPhone. The lumia fever would prevail at least this week..!
